Pauline Tan won title of First Runner up for The Next Miss Universe Malaysia 2015

Next to me, that's our new First runner-up of the Miss Universe Malaysia 2015!
Pauline in her new heels.
Yesterday night while my colleagues were dressing up for our CEO's award presentation gala night, I was also preparing for a gala night, at the Shangri-la Kuala Lumpur, to see my friend on stage of The Next Miss Universe Malaysia 2015!
Done a full make up by myself for the first time!
I punched out from Shah Alam office very punctually at 6pm, got on my car and set my mind to reach the venue as soon as possible. Fortunately, I arrive at around 7pm and got my free tickets from 8TV.
I wasn't expecting to attend this gala night as the tickets were sold out, at the same time, Pauline didn't really want us to spend too much for this occasion.
Thank you 8TV!
Everything was last minute. Grab a dress I've never wore before though purchased long time ago, my existing make up tools and a random bag I usually use.
I even had to borrow few make up items from my colleague to complete my make up.
Time to shop? (teehee)
Obligatory washroom shot :p
Around 8pm, we were finally in the ballroom after standing and waiting for an hour.
It was a four-course dinner.
The event was happening and very enjoyable.
Food was nicely presented and the taste was good.
There were a number of surprises.
First, I already know that Pauline is in the top six. The event started with additional of three contestants being the wild cards, whether they were chosen by the judges or due to the winning of subsidiary titles.
Appetizer: Marinated mushrooms with salad
The competition continued on with nine contestants. Next, when they were supposed to announce top four, another two contestants were added and we had top six (finally). Final Q&A sessions were proceeded with six of them. I have to say, these pageants are good.
Dessert at around 11.30pm due to delay.
Did I mention the main course was served at 10pm?
Oh I haven't mentioned, Pauline was also awarded the subsidiary title of Winning Smile! Yay! ^^
Winning Smile of the Next Miss Universe Malaysia 2015

The final six were Pauline, Jenny, Kelly, Miera, Vanessa and Sugeetha. It was a lot of heart pumping moments especially when it came down to just Pauline and Vanessa for the crown of Miss Universe Malaysia 2015.
Congratulations Pauline! Proud of you!

Jennifer's Sweet 25th at Hanz Harvest & Cafe @ Damansara Jaya SS22

Counting down to our first public holiday after Chinese New Year in our first year of entering work force,
we were celebrating Jen's birthday.
We brought little presents, while Jen' was bringing each of us a rose.
Hanz Harvest & Cafe is my recent favorite, it's nearby, it's cozy, the food and drinks are worth the value and not over-charged.

Visible effort seen in furnishing and decorating the cafe, with the details and all it takes is this one cup of coffee to keep me in.
Local coffee @ RM3
They sell fruits, including banana, apples, kiwi, oranges, etc
depends on availability.
The signature dish will be Rose-a-mary Chicken, I later tried the apple sauce version of it and am keep coming back for more.
Rose-a-marry Chicken served with side salad and wedges @RM15.90
Get the value set during Lunch and Dinner!
ABC top with extra creamy peanut butter ice cream
@ RM5.50 for a generous big bowl
I've brought few of friends there so far. Everyone has been happy with it so far.

Buttermilk Chicken Rice @ RM10
Crispy chicken pieces, tangy mild spicy buttermilk sauce and the running yolk, lovely!
Jennifer ordered Salmon with Lemon Cream @ RM19.90
The amount of fish is generous and it's fresh.
WengYan had this Sweet & Sour Chicken Rice @ RM10
Malaysian Chinese all time favorite that was done well as well!
Jennifer treated us with this Escargot,
which is served with garlic bread and side salad.
It's very good for a first timer in eating escargot like me.
For desserts, they also sell this homemade cheesecake.
The waiter was very friendly and helpful, when I said I wanna present the cake for a birthday girl, he had this brought to our table, simply beautiful and wonderful.
Homemade Cheesecake served with a beautifully cut into rose shape strawberry
Elegant!
We are brought together in the same town again.
Cherish the fate. Happy Birthday once again ;)
Buh-bye~ :p

Twenty Third

It was expected that we won't be spending the exact day of my birthday this year.
Then I've got an early surprise celebration...
p/s: I have no idea why I did that pose...

Blessed with these Hokkaido sponge cake, yummylicious!
So that was the first gift.
Later on, we went to Upstair Cafe in Subang Jaya.

Heard that the red velvet cake was awesome here.
Well, not exactly my type of perfect, I enjoyed it still.

Looking forward to celebrate more birthdays with you all babes. ;)

appreciate life,

After Convocation Day

I guess I have arrived at the time,
when people look back and think to themselves,
"oh how I miss those school days!"

The convocation was scheduled after I've officially started my first job.
Should I be glad that I at least have that half a month salary to pay the cost of graduation...
Two-hundred for the ceremony, gowns and some photos; two-hundred twenty for presentable framed photographs of me in graduation gown and holding the degree, another me and my parents.
I shall then declare myself on financial constraint until the next pay check comes.

Wait, what about the budget for a pair of running shoes for my first run?
I guess I will just continue to run in my good pair of white school shoes...

Apart from that, a late convocation is not so inviting because I have to take unpaid leaves.
While you are already in the working world, the mindset is already...
... a dietitian.
A convocation then becomes just another ceremony that you attend just to meet friends.

Since I first realized I bring home stress from work, I decide to take control over, trying to not take home work, to complete whatever necessary within working hours.
It's been three days away from work, including two-day leave for the convocation and one weekend holiday.
I don't have problem picking up the working momentum but I prefer not to leave aside my appointed task. I feel that I haven't fulfilled my accountability.

Thanks daddy mommy for coming all the way to attend the ceremony.
Thanks Rachel and Fion for the flower bouquet, and Rachel came and shared the moment.

For the people I'd failed to invite then later realize they can't space out their time table any more,
as my facebook status updates:
"Sincerely seeing the convocation as just another ceremony, it's a shame that I'd failed to inform and invite my beloved ones. Well you don't have to see me in a graduation robe to love me, do you?
Appreciate the blessings, I look forward to more times and days spent together in the future. xo."

Here's a link to a facebook video, taken by daddy, of me being handed my degree:

appreciate life,

Kota Tinggi with Jen'

It was almost like a replay of my Thailand trip.
I'd been working since study break started, rest a few days during the EOS exam, then started another job.
Hence, I was really exhausted already when the last job finally ended at 23rd.

After an enjoyable after-work-supper with colleagues, the very next morning, I was on my way down South.

Dad sent me to the nearest KTM so that I can go to the Terminal Bersepadu Selatan (TBS) to take a bus. I arrived there at around 11.30am only to realize there's no bus at that time. I bought a ticket for 1.30pm bus.
It was a long trip, I was a little nervous as it was the first time I left home in a bus to far far away land. At about 5.30pm, I arrived at Kota Tinggi bus station, welcomed by Jen' and her mother.

I first met the Gan family in a place called 大众餐馆,
with a delicious meal.
Jen's mother was really enthusiastic. My food plate was never empty while she kept filling it up with all dishes before I can finished them.
Tadpole Café @Kota Tinggi
We went back to Jen's home after the meal. Later then, I was brought to this beautiful café.
I ordered a Mulberry Oreo, it was really good!
That's me and Vivien, Jen's youngest sister.
That very much all about the first night in Kota Tinggi.
I'm very STUFFED, like a stuffed turkey. :-P

We woke up kinda late the first morning in Kota Tinggi.
Jen's mom drove us (me, Jen', and both of her sisters) down to AEON Tebrau City.

MaPo Tofu rice set @Zen Taiwanese Restaurant
We had our blunch at the Zen Taiwanese Restaurant.
I'm loving the variety of food available in AEON Tebrau City, it's so much more a shopping paradise as compared to AEON Bukit Tinggi in my opinion.

Jen' and me ;)
Jen bought me egg tart and Christmas present, thank you my dear. :)
Christmas deco @AEON Tebrau City
Us in Christmas ball...
I'm dreaming of a white Christmas...
After some fun time shopping in the mall, we head back with all the ingredients we need for our Christmas dinner at home.
Us in red ;)
Corn salad, Joy To You, Love Me Tender and spaghetti bolognese
Look inviting, isn't it?

Third day in Kota Tinggi, we paid a visit to the famous Kota Tinggi Bah Kut Teh stall.
It's very different from Klang Bah Kut Teh,
taste-wise,
as well as the fact that they eat with chopsticks.
At noon, we went to the Heritage Mall, we had lunch and watched the CZ12 by Jackie Chan.
It's indeed a very good movie! Totally worth watching and must not be missed!
Salute to Jackie Chan!
Roti and porridge
We finished the movie and went home happily to Jen's mom's home cook meal.
It was very mouth-watering!
How inviting is that!
Chicken, vegetables, tofu, fish and eggs!
Not to forget the homemade chili paste, very yummy!
I'll give it a 9.99 out of 10, well nothing is perfect right?
Totally not overrated.

For supper, here comes the famous dessert stall!

@Your Dessert Library
This my 榴莲忘返 >.<
yumyum durian dessert!
Before sending me off, we went to have Mee Rebus.
Fried chicken and Mee Rebus
It was indeed very tasty, especially with the classic accompaniment of lime as well as a poached egg.

Now,
I feel like I'm writing a food blog.
In fact, I was eating all the time when I was in Kota Tinggi, all the good food!

Kota Tinggi may seem to be a small town, not very well known.
There are nice people, most importantly good food!
I was so missing the Gan family when I left the town.

Besides thanking the very generous Gan family, including uncle, auntie, Jen', Angeline and Vivien;
it was daddy who fetched me back and forth.
Thank you daddy... :3
